According to reports a tragic accident in South Los Angles claimed the lives of five and injured 16, when two vans crashed.
It was reported that a passenger van traveling through an intersection in the vicinity of a Hyde Park neighborhood struck another van that was speeding through a red light according to reports and police officer Karen Smith.
This collision caused the van to go airborne, when the van landed it was on fire and also caused three other accidents to collide and catch on fire. It has been reported by Los Angeles burn injury lawyers that two people in the van that ran the red light perished in the fire and were burned beyond recognition.
The other van was carrying three children that sustained fatal injuries, there was a 12-year-old boy that was ejected from the passenger van and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. One of the passengers in this accident that was critically injured was a 4-year-old child as well as three other children and two adults according to reports by Officer Kate Lopez.

Both were transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. It was reported that the child was in a child safety seat at the time of the accident.

Morning Freeway Crash Takes Three lives

Los Angeles car accident attorneys report that the I 5 in Santa Ana was the scene of a head-on car crash in the early morning, in the vicinity south of Slauson Avenue.
According to reports and the California Highway Patrol spokesman Officer Francisco Villalobos, the accident occurred a little after 3:00 a.m. and shut down the southbound lanes of the I 5 Freeway.
It has been reported that a man that was 27 years old who has not been identified, was driving a 2007 Toyota Yaris traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when he hit head-on a 1998 Nissan.
The 27 year old was killed in the accident as well as the female driver of the Nissan whose name has also not been released, along with a 20 year old female passenger in the Nissan.
There were also an 18 year old and 10 year old passengers in the Nissan that were injured, however the injuries were not life threatening and they were both transported to the County USC Medical Center for treatment.
The I 5 Freeway was closed till after 6:45 a.m. while the California Highway Patrol investigated the scene of the accident and they are also looking into the possibly that alcohol played a part in this deadly accident.

87-Year-Old Woman Out For Walk Struck
May 12, 2008 (by Otto Smyth) It has been reported that while an 87 year old woman was walking in the vicinity of the 15th Street and Parton Street at approximately 5:20 a.m. when she was struck by a vehicle whose driver then fled the scene.
According to reports and spokes person Cpl. Jose Gonzalez of Santa Ana Police, the police department received a call that there was an elderly woman lying on the ground and bleeding. After they were called they were sent to where the hit and run took place, the woman had been seriously injured. Witnesses at the scene said that it is possible that the vehicle that struck the woman was a white Ford Explorer. The reports from the witnesses said that they witnessed a saw the vehicle back up and leave the scene heading west on Washington Avenue.
The woman that had been struck was transported to the hospital and was listed in critical condition. It was also reported that the woman lives in the area where the Los Angeles motor vehicle accident happened, and was out for a usual morning walk when the hit and run occurred.

Accident Victim On Highway 166 Remembered

A man who was fatally injured in an accident on Highway 166 was remembered today by family and friends as well as the community.
The man who was killed has been identified as Charles McAtee of Bakersfield and he was said to be a pioneer in the real estate industry. He was the CEO of Pacific Auction Exchange.
The car accident occurred in the vicinity of Tepusquet Road neat Santa Maria and is reported that it is the first death on this roadway so far this year.
According to the California Highway Patrol the car that McAtee was driving crossed the lane as he was approaching a curve. In the other lane when he crossed over was a tractor-trailer truck. They also said that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was thrown from the Corvette he was driving.
