Cypress Man Crashes Into SUV and Then Hits Brick Wall While Fleeing

A Cypress man was arrested Monday afternoon on suspicion of one felony count of hit-and-run and for resisting arrest and driving without a license.

Reportedly Haitham Ebrahim aged 18, fled the scene of one crash and got into another crash when he hit a brick wall while fleeing the first crash.

Cypress police responded to a car crash call that came in at 3:20 pm. Arrival upon the scene of the accident at the corner of Knott and Johnathan avenue revealed an empty Toyota Corolla with the stereo on. The corolla had crashed into a brick wall. According to reports, Ebrahim had hit an SUV and was fleeing the scene of that accident just prior to crashing into the brick wall.

Several witnesses at the scene described Ebrahim and told police that he and several other people had run into a nearby apartment complex. Police reports state that they were able to arrest Ebrahim after a short foot chase when they had found him matching witness descriptions.

According to reports, Ebrahim was booked into the Cypress city jail and was then held in the Orange County Jail on $20,000 bail.

Irvine Woman Struck By Cement Truck

On July 18, a 46-year-old Irvine woman was struck by a cement truck that ran a red light and suffered several broken bones in her legs, back and pelvis. Ellsa Federico was driving her black BMW at the time of the crash.
Armando Sandoval, a 27-year-old driver for the Silver Concrete Pumping and Ready Mix Company, ran a red light while on the southbound 73 toll road at the Laguna Canyon Road exit. Reportedly, Sandoval realized his brakes were not working just before the crash.

Sgt. Jason Kravetz of the Laguna Beach police reports that the accident is still under investigation. It is expected that charges will be filed by the District Attorney’s Office. Upon inspection of the cement truck, several motor vehicle violations were found.

At the time of the accident, the cement truck ran through a red light and rammed into the front of Federico’s BMW, driving over the top of it and causing it to spin around and hit a red Ford Expedition. Federico was taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo for treatment.

Anaheim Woman Loses Control of Ford Ranger

Orange County car accident lawyers report that an unidentified woman lost control of her Ford Ranger this morning while entering an I-5 on ramp. According to reports, witnesses stated she was driving northbound on Anaheim Way between Katella Avenue and Orangethorpe when they saw the the driver lose control of the Ford Ranger and crash into a light pole.

Anaheim police responded to scene of the accident and an investigation into the accident was initiated. It was reported that the accident caused two lanes of traffic to be closed during the investigation. The 21-year-old driver suffered injuries to her legs and was pinned in the car. Anaheim firefighters used hydraulic Jaws of Life to cut her free from the vehicle.

The woman was taken to the UCI Medical Center in Orange for treatment of her injuries.

Los Angeles Emergency Doctor Allegedly Uses Vehicle As A Weapon

According to reports a Los Angeles emergency room doctor who has been identified, as Dr. Christopher Thompson was involved in an incident that lead to his arrest for allegedly using his vehicle as a weapon. Thompson age 58 was arrested Friday for assault with a deadly weapon according to statements from a police spokesperson Officer Ana Aguirre. Thompson was arrested and booked into the jail for an incident that occurred involving two bicyclists. A fight ensued between Thompson and two bicyclists on a narrow road when he allegedly swerved his vehicle into the path of the bicycle riders causing them to crash into the vehicle.

The riders were transported to the hospital and Thompson was later released on $30,000 bail. Thompson has a court date for the 1st of August and the district attorneys office has not decided if they will file charges.

Thompson’s attorney Peter Swarth stated that his client did not intentionally mean to harm the bicyclists.

One of the bicyclists identified as Ron Peterson has spoken with KFI-Am and stated that he felt the incident was road rage. This Thompson’s attorney denies and there have been no statements by Thompson about the incident.

Speeding Driver Kills Pedestrians

According to reports by Los Angeles car accident attorneys, as well as statements from the police Karen Smith two pedestrians were killed when a driver was trying to outrun police.

The accident occurred when policed tried to pull over a vehicle that was being driven in a reckless manner when the driver took police on a high speed chase.

At the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Wilcox the driver being followed by police ran a red light. This is when two unsuspecting pedestrians where struck and killed by the driver whose identity has not been released.

The victims that were killed in Sunday nights high speed chase according to witnesses were holding hands crossing the street, the only information that has been released is that they were both in their 30’s. Their identities have not been released at this time.

The driver of the vehicle has been arrested according to police spokes person Karen Smith and Hollywood Boulevard remains closed at the scene of the accident and is not expected to open until sometime Monday.
