California Driving Records Not Available On The Internet

Q: Is It possible to obtain a copy of my California driving record on the Internet?

A: At this time is not possible to obtain California driving records on the Internet, and this is because of the risk for identity theft. In the state of California Department of Motor Vehicles is working on a safe process to establish identity and when this is in place drivers will then be able to access her own records securely.

Q. In the case of an accident at a red light and I get rear ended will I need to report it to DMV even if all information is exchanged?

A: In most cases yes it will need to be reported, if the damages exceed $750. in the state of California it is required by law to file an SR-1 form. Accidents on state streets, highways, freeways and private property must be reported within 10 days to DMV and this includes if there was injury, death or property damage. This is additional to any reports that were filed by law enforcement officials.

Q. There are so many different colors painted on the curbs how will I know what they mean?

A. The answer to this can be found in the California Drivers Handbook. When a curb is painted red it means there is no stopping there at any time, a green painted curb is for limited time parking and yellow is for unloading passengers or freight. The curbs painted white are for dropping off or picking up passengers and a blue painted curb is for the disabled who carry a placard or have special license plates.

Q. What are the requirements or laws for cycles with motors on the streets of California?

A. The operator of a cycle with a motor has the same rights as drivers with vehicles, they also have the same responsibilities, rules and regulations.

Q. If a cycle with a motor such as a Vespa is used in order to save on gas are there certin requirement and laws concerning these cycles? Can they be ridden on the freeways and other highways?

A. This type of cycle must be registered at DMV and the operator must have a Class M1 operator’s license. A driver’s license is not required, however there are regulations that the operator must be at least 16 years of age and al required motorcycle courses must be taken. Another regulation is the operator and passengers must wear helmets when riding on a motorized cycle and they are not permitted on the freeways due to the size of the motor, any engines under 150 cubic centimeters is not permitted on the freeways.

Q. When stopping at a stop sign how long does the law require the stop to be?
A. In the state of California there is no specific amount of time when stopped at a stop sign, however the vehicle must come to a complete stop. a vehicle must also stop before entering a designated crosswalk, or at the limit line, the wide white painted line on the street. If there is no crosswalk the vehicle must stop at the corner.

Memorial Day Weekend California Fatalities Total 31

According to reports by car accident attorneys in Los Angeles County, the California Highway Patrol during the holiday weekend there were 31 fatalities on the roads of California.

While there were a total of 31 traffic related deaths across the state, the California Highway Patrol spokes person Officer Jose Nunez stated there were 10 traffic related deaths n Los Angeles County. The deaths occurred within a 60-hour period during the holiday weekend, which ended at 6:00 a.m. on Monday.

The 31 deaths are almost double of last year Memorial Day holiday weekend according to Officer Nunez with traffic related deaths in 2008 at 19.

According to the California Highway Patrol driving under the influence arrests were down on this holiday weekend even though there was more traffic related deaths.

According to the California Highway Patrol in Los Angeles County, there were 16 fewer driving under the influence arrests this year, totaling 220 arrests for this Memorial Day Weekend. Throughout the state, there was approximately 1300 drunk driving arrests in the state of California.

Santa Rosa Highway 101 Pedestrian Fatality

According to reports by pedestrian injury lawyers in Los Angeles, a pedestrian was struck and killed on Highway 101.

The accident occurred at approximately 10:00 a.m. according to the California Highway Patrol in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 north of state Highway 12.

California Highway Patrol Officer Kevin Kroncke stated, a vehicle struck a pedestrian in the left lanes of the highway. Kroncke said the vehicle stopped after the accident and the northbound lanes of Highway 101 were closed after the accident.

The northbound lanes were closed and the south on ramps near the location of the accident according to California Highway Patrol Officer Peter Van Eckhardt.

Two Teens Killed When Pickup Loses Control In Fullerton Crash

May 11, 2009 (by Otto Smyth) According to reports by Fullerton car accident attorneys, two teenagers were killed when the pickup they were riding in went out of control.

According to Fullerton Police Sgt. Mike McDonald the accident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. when the driver of the blue 2006 Toyota pickup lost control of the truck.

The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when the accident occurred in the eastbound lane of Coyote Hills Drive, west of Gilbert Street, ejecting two passengers. The two teens that were fatally injured, have been identified as 19-year-old Jacquelyn A. Ardalan of La Habra and Miles A. Christensen age 19 of Fullerton.

The pickup truck started to skid and went off Coyote Hill Drive, the Toyota went up an embankment and struck a Eucalyptus tree. Crashing into the Eucalyptus tree tore the roof off of the pickup, ejecting and fatally injuring the two teens.

The driver has been identified as Jared Berggren age 19 of Fullerton; he was transported to UCI Medical Center with head injuries.

Sgt. MacDonald stated the fatal truck accident is believed to be alcohol related and Berggren, is expected to be charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter.

According to Sgt. MacDonald alcohol was found after the accident in a cul-de-sac where the teens were believed to have been drinking.

Driver Runs Red Light Hitting A Minivan—One Person Fatally Injured

According to reports one person was killed in when a driver ran a red light striking a minivan.

According to Lt. Roger Deranian of the Los Angeles West Traffic Division, the accident occurred at approximately 4:40 a.m. in Fairfax Village, when a driver ran a red light on Beverly Boulevard.

The driver was operating a Prius when he ran the red light striking the minivan that was carrying at least 4 passengers. One of the passengers was fatally injured and has been identified as Cecelia Manjares age 30, from Los Angeles.

Lt. Deranian stated the driver who ran the red light was also transported to the hospital and their injuries were non-life threatening.

Limo Driver Turned In by Teens For DUI

According to by limousine dui lawyers in Los Angeles, a limo driver was arrested for suspected DUI by Teens he was hired to take to the prom turned him in to parents in Lowell Massachusetts.

The limousine driver identified as Brian Harrison age 45 was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a group of student he had been hired to take to the prom contacted their parents.

According to police Harrison was picking up two female students when they suspected he might be drunk. One of the students called a parent. The parent then called the police.

The two female students refused to get into the limo, which then left only to return to the Lowell Catholic High School. The driver apologized to the students asking them to get into the limo according to police.
