June 28, 2010 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports a man was killed while crossing a South Los Angeles street. According to authorities the pedestrian accident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. when a man identified as Tyrone L. Jones was crossing the street in the vicinity of Broadway and 92nd Street in South Los Angeles.
Jones age 39, who police state was struck by a green Chevy Lumina, which has been located, but police are still searching for the driver. Investigators believe the Lumina was traveling southbound heading toward 91st street and Broadway when it struck Jones.

Man Killed in Santa Ana Hit and Run
June 21, 2010 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports a man was struck and killed by a hit and run driver in Santa Ana.
Santa Ana Police Department Cmdr. Steve Colon, stated the police received a call at approximately 4:47 a.m. Sunday from a driver that had seen the pedestrian.
The man that was struck and killed in the hit and run crash was identified as a 54 year old man. The early morning accident took place in 1500 block of N. Fairview Street.
According to Cmdr. Colon the man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and no witnesses have come forward.

Freeway Reopened After Big Rig Oil Spill
June 14, 2010-According to reports a morning crash closed the westbound lanes of the 91 Freeway in the Anaheim area. Accident caused a SigAlert at approximately 9:30 a.m. according to California Highway Patrol Officer Denise Quesada after a big rig accident. The accident occurred in the vicinity of State College Boulevard, where a big rig crashed and began leaking oil.
The accident was reported to the California Highway Patrol at approximately 9:12 a.m. according to Officer Quesada. The westbound lanes of the 91 Freeway were reopened at approximately 11:09 a.m. due to the oil spilled and clean up.
There was a second collision shortly after the big rig crashed in the same vicinity that involved a big rig and a pickup truck according to officer Quesada. There were no reported injuries in either accident, and the cause of the big rig crash and oil spill.

January Jones Mad Man Actress involved in Los Angeles Crash—Blames Paparazzi
June 11, 2010-According to reports actress January Jones was involved in a los Angeles crash in her Range Rover.
The Mad Man actress was involved in a accident when returning home from a viewing party for the Los Angeles Lakers-Boston Celtics game held at a West Hollywood Hotel.
Jones lost control of her Range Rover and struck three parked cars at approximately 9:00 p.m. the actress then left the scene of the crash. Witnesses stated the actress said she could not deal with the commotion before leaving the damaged vehicles.
Jones stated she left the scene of the crash to go home approximately a half mile away and call the police to report the accident. The actress told police she blames the paparazzi for losing control of the Range Rover, which Jones says were harassing her on the road.
Paparazzi have been following the actress since being linked with actor Adrien Brody according to reports. The policed have stated drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash and there will not be a hit and run investigation.

Crash Closes 405 Freeway—Involves CHP Motorcycle Officer
June 9, 2010 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports the 405 Freeway was closed after an accident involving a California Highway Patrol officer.
The collision occurred in the northbound lanes of the 405 Freeway in the vicinity of National Boulevard at approximately 8:45 a.m. involving a California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer and two other vehicles.
The officer was transported Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Center after the collision in critical condition and according to one witness was in cardiac arrest.
According to California Highway Patrol spokesman Francisco Villalobos the events of accident are still vague, and there is an ongoing investigation. The crash occurred at 8:35 a.m. and the injured motorcycle officer was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Villalobos estimates the 405 Freeway will remain closed for approximately one to two hours will investigators continue to work the scene of the crash.

Los Angeles Memorial Day Weekend Traffic Deaths Up—DUI’s Down
June 1, 2010 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports the holiday weekend traffic deaths rose, while DUI arrests are down. According to the California Highway Patrol traffic deaths rose over the Memorial Day weekend in Los Angeles County compared to this holiday weekend last year.
There were 10 traffic related deaths over the holiday weekend in Los Angeles County and 31 traffic related deaths statewide according to the California Highway Patrol. This is higher compared to Memorial Day weekend in 2009 with 12 traffic related deaths.
The California Highway Patrol stated there were 1,296 DUI arrests this holiday weekend, compared to 1,406 DUI arrests for this same 60 hour time period last year that begins at 6:01 pm. On Friday and ends at 6:00 a.m. Monday.
This is the total for the California Highway Patrol for DUI arrests, and the total amount of traffic related deaths statewide. DUI arrests by other law enforcement agencies is not included in the California Highway Patrol’s total for the holiday weekend.
