Driver Arrested in Rialto Hit and Run Death of Teen Skate Boarder

September 5, 2011 -According to reports a driver that was involved in a hit and run death was arrested Monday. According to Rialto Police Department Lt. Randy DeAnda, driver Matthew Cory Hudson age 21 was arrested in the death of a teen skateboarder.

The deadly hit and run occurred in the 400 block of Home Street, where Jonathan Olagues was riding his skateboard along the side of the street. Hudson is alleged to have sped through the neighborhood at approximately 8:00 p.m. hitting Olagues and then fleeing the scene of the crash. According to Lt DeAnda Olagues was pronounced dead at the scene of the hit and run.

Hudson then reported his vehicle stolen at 2:30 a.m., which Lt, DeAnda stated is not uncommon in hit and run accidents. During a police interview Hudson made statements that caused officers to believe he was the driver of the 2001 Chevy Camaro that was involved in the hit and run that fatally injured the skateboard rider.

Hudson was arrested on suspicion of felony hit and run, vehicular manslaughter and felony evading and was booked at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, with bail set at $100,000.
