September 27, 2011-According to reports by the car accident lawyer at Ehline Law Firm PC, a mother involved in a weekend SUV rollover crash that injured six children is facing charges. According to California Highway Patrol Officer Abel Hernandez, 31 year old Stanesha Allen has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and child endangerment.
Allen is recovering from minor injuries at Antelope Valley Hospital and will be booked into county jail when released. Allen drove her 2002 Toyota Sequoia onto the shoulder of the road in the vicinity of Lancaster on early Sunday morning causing it to rollover four times and critically injuring at least two children in the vehicle and causing minor injuries to four others.
Hernandez stated, Allen’s four year old daughter sustained critical head injuries that included a fractured skull and an unknown object in her brain that is believed might be a bead she was wearing in her hair. A two year old boy and foster son of Allen suffered critical injuries including the amputation of his right foot and left leg in the accident. Upon the boys release from the hospital on Tuesday he will be placed in protective custody, according to Officer Hernandez.
The other four children including one that is Allen’s niece that was in the vehicle suffered cuts and bruises. According to California Highway Patrol Officer Hernandez the children were improperly seated in child safety seats. He said that three of the children involved in the rollover crash were Allen’s children, two were foster children and one was her niece.
