October 4, 2011 - According to reports two people were injured in a multi-vehicle accident in La Habra. According to the La Habra Police Department the multi-vehicle collision occurred at approximately 7:50 a.m. The motor vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Lambert Road in the vicinity east of Beach Boulevard.
The La Habra Police stated that the three vehicle collision blocked the lanes of the busy intersection for approximately four hours. The accident according to authorities occurred when a pickup truck in the No. 1 lane traveling west, when the driver veered into the eastbound lanes, hitting a Chevy Tahoe. This caused the truck to broadside a Hyundai, causing it to hit the curb.
The Jaws of Life had to be used to extract the driver from the Hyundai after the crash, who was one of the injured victims in the three car collision, according to Los Angeles County firefighters. The driver of the pickup truck was also injured in the collision. The driver of the Tahoe was not injured in the collision. According to Los Angeles County firefighters both injured drivers were transported to area hospitals.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the second reported collision occurred on the southbound I-5 in the vicinity north of Harbor Boulevard. This crash occurred in the vicinity north of Jeffery Road and involved two vehicles, a Ford F-150 and a Honda Odyssey. The Odyssey reportedly rear ended the Ford pickup truck, causing the carpool lane to be blocked for approximately 30 minutes.
