Pedestrian in Critical Condition After Hit and Run

May 26, 2011 - According to reports a pedestrian is in critical condition after being involved in a hit and run accident in Huntington Beach. According to authorities a pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck and critically injured at approximately 10:00 p.m. at the intersection of Chrysler Drive and Beach Boulevard.

According to Huntington Beach Police Sgt. Nikitin the pedestrian after being struck by the pickup truck was hospitalized in critical, but stable condition.

The driver of the pickup truck was stopped approximately ten minutes after the pedestrian was struck and arrested the driver on suspicion of high and run in this pedestrian accident case. The Huntington Beach Police have not released the driver’s identity or any personal details about the pedestrian that was struck at the intersection.

DUI Driver Kills 5 Year-Old Huntington Beach Child

May 16, 2011 - According to reports a 5 year-old child was killed Sunday when he was struck by a driver allegedly under the influence.

According to the California Highway Patrol the deadly accident occurred at approximately 5:40 p.m. in the 2500 block of Poplar Place in Montebello.

The 5 year-old Christian Martinez was struck and killed by a twenty-five year old driver, whose identity has not been released. Neighbors of the boy stated the 25 year-old lives on the street.

The child’s father was working on his truck at the time Christian Martinez was struck.
The California Highway Patrol stated the driver of the vehicle was issued a DUI and charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated are imminent.
