Three Vehicle Crash In Anaheim Injures Woman
June 22, 2011 - According to reports a three vehicle collision in Anaheim injured a woman involved in the crash.
According to authorities the three vehicle collision occurred at 6:07 a.m. in the vicinity of Lincoln Avenue and Citron Street in Anaheim. The three vehicle crash involved a Nissan Frontier, Ford Focus and a Honda sedan that collided near the Anaheim High School.
The drivers of the Honda and the Nissan Frontier were not injured in the Anaheim motor vehicle collision. Firefighters assisted in removing the injured driver of the Ford Focus out of vehicle.

Rollover Crash Critically Injures Teen In Brea—Driver Arrested on Suspicion of DUI
June 21, 2011 - According to reports a teenager was critically injured in a early Tuesday morning rollover crash in Brea. According to Brea Police Sgt. Jim Griffin the rollover crash occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Imperial Highway in the vicinity west of Berry Street. While traveling in the westbound lanes, authorities believe that while the Honda CR-V was traveling westbound, Zepeda struck a fence on the north curb, between Berry Street and Viking Avenue.
The vehicle involved in the rollover crash was a 1990 Honda CR-V hatchback, that critically injured a teenager and the driver sustained minor injuries. According to Sgt. Griffin, firefighters had to remove a teenage boy that was trapped in the back seat of the vehicle. The teen was transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange with a lacerated spleen and a skull fracture, Griffin stated.
The driver identified as Manuel Zepeda age 19 of Norwalk was found by officers at the scene a short distance away. According to Sgt. Griffin Zepeda was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit-and-run. Zepeda was transported to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries and another passenger in the front seat fled the scene and has not been found, according to Sgt. Griffin.

Three Seriously Injured When Car Leaves I-405 Freeway
June 20, 2011-According to reports three people were seriously injured when the vehicle they were in went off of the roadway on the I-405 Freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol the Laguna Canyon crash injuring three people occurred at approximately 12:31 p.m. in the vicinity south of Laguna Canyon Road on northbound I-405.
The vehicle that left the road on northbound I-405, according to authorities was a a green Honda Civic.
Orange County Firefighters according to Capt. Greg McKeown of the Orange County Fire Authority stated that at least three people were transported to Mission Hospital with traumatic injuries. Fire fighters had to use the Jaws of Life, Mckeown stated and there were 16 fire fighters at the scene.
According to Capt. McKeown the victims that were transported to Mission Hospital included a 4 year-old, a ten year-old and a 51 year-old. According to the California Highway Patrol it was not clear what caused the Honda Civic to leave the roadway and if there was any other vehicle involved.

Man Killed on 57 Freeway After Leaving Disabled Vehicle
June 13, 2011-According to reports by a car accident attorney, a man was killed on the 57 Freeway after leaving his disabled vehicle in Fullerton. Planet of the Apes Actress Charged with DUI and other Charges
June 10, 2011 - According to reports by personal injury attorneys, Planet of the Apes actress Estella Warren has been charged with DUI. Warren according to authorities was charged with DUI, hit and run, resisting arrest and battery on a police officer in an incident that occurred in May.
The Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office filed the charges June 9th in connection with the incident that are misdemeanors and that can carry a total of 2 ½ years in jail. According to authorities the actress hit three vehicles while allegedly driving under the influence and escaped from handcuffs after being taken to the police station where she then left. Warren was not charged with escaping from custody, since authorities stated she had not been formally booked.

Driver Arrested On Suspicion of Caltrans Workers Death
June 8, 2011 - According to reports a San Diego driver has been arrested on suspicion of a Caltrans workers death. The driver identified as Kyle Pearson age 42 was arrested and charged with felony hit and run for the death of a Caltrans worker on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 8. Pearson will face gross vehicular manslaughter, along with other charges.
The Caltrans employee that was killed in the hit and run has been identified as Jaime Obeso a resident of Imperial. According to California Highway Patrol Capt. Jose Vasquez the crash occurred at approximately 1:09 p.m. with Pearson fleeing the scene.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Miguel Lizarraga, Pearson was injured when his 2003 Ford overturned and was transported by paramedics to El Centro Regional Medical Center and was then flown to the University of California San Diego Medical Center.
Pearson has been arrested after hitting Obeso age 53, who was doing construction work inside an enclosed section of the lane. The crash took place in the vicinity east of Drew Road. Officers allege that Pearson’s Ford vehicle overturned when he attempted to flee the car crash scene by driving through the closed Sunbeam Rest Area near where the car accident occurred.

Driver Arrested on Suspicion of DUI Following a Two Vehicle Crash
June 6, 2011 - According to reports a driver involved in a two vehicle crash was arrested on suspicion of DUI in Santa Ana. According to Santa Ana Police Department Cmdr. Steve Colon the car crash occurred at approximately 7:50 a.m. in the vicinity of MacArthur Boulevard and Greenville Street.
The driver of a gold Toyota pickup collided with a Toyota Camry traveling west on MacArthur Boulevard after running a red light at Greenville Street. The Toyota pickup flipped over on its side in the crash and a female driver and her son in the Toyota Camry were transported to a local hospital. The extent of their injuries has not been released.
According to Cmdr. Colon the driver was arrested at the scene for suspicion of driving under the influence. Both directions of Greenville Street and the westbound lanes of MacArthur Boulevard were closed approximately thirty minutes after the crash.

Memorial Day Weekend Leads to 148 DUI Arrests in Orange County
May 31, 2011-According to reports during the Memorial Day weekend there were 148 arrests for driving under the influence. According to Orange County Deputy Wayne Howard between Friday and Monday night between checkpoints and patrol saturation there were 148 arrests for suspicion of driving under the influence made. It is unclear how many of these arrests involved a car accident with injuries.
The count could grow higher, since some agencies have not reported their figures yet, said Wayne. According to Deputy Howard this number is up from the same period during the 2010 holiday weekend when there were 139 arrests for driving under the influence.
The holiday weekend campaign this Memorial Day was a combined effort of multi-agencies, including the Orange County Sheriff’s Department and the California Highway Patrol. The task force was known as Avoid the 38.
The program was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Administration. The holiday weekend crashes included a collision involved a 14 year old that suffered severe brain injuries when the car the cheerleader was in was struck by a driver under the influence. The driver was arrested at the scene and booked in jail on felony DUI charges.
