Multi-Vehicle Crash Caused by Driver Blinded by Sun

February 29, 2012 - According to reports a multi-vehicle crash occurred when a driver was blinded by the sun.

According to the California Highway Patrol the accident occurred at approximately 7:05 a.m. on the eastbound Yorba Linda Boulevard on-ramp to the 57 Freeway.

California Highway Patrol Officer R. Marquez said that the driver of a Ford Focus ZXW traveling on the on-ramp struck the back of an Ford F-150 pickup truck that was then pushed into the back of a Honda Fit.

According to Officer Marquez the driver of the Ford Focus, identified as a woman, said that as she was driving on the on-ramp the sun was in her eyes and she could not see the vehicles in front of her.

CHP Officer Marquez said the driver of the F150 was injured in the crash and transported to an area hospital.
