Solo-Vehicle Accident Results in Driver’s Death
April 30, 2012 - According to reports a solo-vehicle crash in Fullerton was fatal for the driver of a pickup truck.
According to Fullerton Police Department Sgt. Tony Bogart, the solo-vehicle accident occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. in the 700 block of South Magnolia Avenue in the vicinity of the Buena Park High School and Orangethorpe Avenue.
Fullerton Police Sgt. Bogart said the accident involved a Mazda pickup truck that was traveling northbound on Magnolia Avenue, when the driver identified as a man. The pickup truck veered off of the road and drove over a curb. The truck smashed into a tree that became up rooted and then struck a utility pole.
The truck came to rest on its side, against the telephone pole and the driver was found deceased in the truck by Fullerton police officers, Sgt. Bogart said. Sgt. Bogart said the cause of the accident remains under investigation and it is unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Magnolia Avenue was closed while investigators assessed the scene of the deadly crash, Sgt. Bogart said.
