Woman Struck and Killed By Metrolink Train in Anaheim

March 31, 2012 - According to reports a woman was struck and killed Friday by a Metrolink Train in Anaheim. According to Anaheim Police Sgt. Frank Pinela a woman was struck and killed by a Metrolink train on Friday at approximately 5:30 p.m. in Anaheim.

The accident occurred in the vicinity of East Sycamore Street and North East Street.
Anaheim Police Sgt. Robert Dunn said the train was the Metrolink No. 604 train. Sgt. Dunn said that none of the passengers were injured and they were transferred to other trains and buses.

According to Sgt. Pinela a witness said that the woman that was struck and killed laid down on the tracks, prior to being struck. This is the third person to be struck and killed by a Metrolink train in Orange County within the past month, according to reports. March 12th, Denniss Groover age 51 of Ashland, Oregon was struck and killed in the 35000 block of Beach Road, in Dana Point. March 23rd Grant Grange age 50 of Anaheim, was struck and killed in Fullerton by a Metrolink train.

The woman that was struck and killed Friday evening by the Metrolink 604 train has not been identified.
