Mother and 4 Children Struck By Van—Serious Injuries Involved
May 22, 2012 - According to reports a woman and three children were struck by a van while crossing a street in Thousand Oaks. According to police a woman and three children were struck by a van while crossing in a crosswalk in Thousand Oaks, causing serious injuries.
Police said witnesses said the woman was crossing Thousand Oaks Boulevard, near Oakview Drive with one child in a stroller and three other children on foot. Witnesses said the woman was in the crosswalk at the time they were struck by a van.
According to authorities all four of the victims were transported to Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Thousand Oaks. Two of the children were airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles in critical condition, police said. The woman and the third child suffered serious injuries, when struck by the van.
Witnesses said the woman pushed the stroller to safety and that child was unharmed in the accident. Police said that the driver of the van remained at the scene of the accident and was cooperating with authorities. Thousand Oaks Boulevard was closed in both directions police said.
