June 7, 2012 - According to reports a man was killed in a solo vehicle crash in Irvine. According to Irvine Police Department Lt. Julia Engen the accident occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. at Von Karman Avenue and Anchor Avenue in Irvine.
The man identified as 51 year old Tracy Clow of Capistrano Beach, was driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling south on Von Karman, Lt. Engen said. Lt. Engen said that Clow crashed into an electric pole and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at 10:22 p.m.
The electric pole was down for several hours, causing Irvine police to close Von Karman from Main Street to McGraw Avenue, Irvine police officials said. According to Lt. Engen there were no obvious signs that alcohol was a factor in the crash and no other vehicles were involved. Irvine police officials said that the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
