According to New York Daily News a financial publication put together a list of the worst cars on the road based on testing scores from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, Consumer Reports, the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration and consumer analyst JD Power.
According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, 32,885 people died in motor vehicle crashes during 2010, which represents a 2.9 percent drop over 2009 fatalities.
Here are some safe cars for 2012, listed by Forbes:
- The Audi A6;
- BMW 5 Series;
- Inifiti Ex 35;
- Infiniti M37/M56
- Mercedes-Benz E-class;
- Volvo S60 M Class;
- Volvo S80; and
- Volvo XC60.
