Crash on Transition Road 605-210 Freeway Fatal for Big Rig Driver

July 16, 2012 - According to reports a driver of a big rig was killed in a crash on the 605-210 Freeway transition road.

According to California Highway Patrol officials the accident occurred Monday, at approximately 9:00 a.m. The crash occurred when the driver of a big rig, crashed into another 18-wheeler that was parked on the shoulder of the transition road between the 605 Freeway and the 210 Freeway.

CHP officials said the driver of the big rig was killed in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The big rig driver’s name has not been released, pending notification of his family.

The driver of the other 18-wheeler was not injured in the crash, CHP officials said. CHP officials said the transition road was closed for approximately two hours after the crash.
