July 14, 2012 - According to reports a driver that attempted to flee the scene of a six vehicle crash resulting in two people being seriously injured, was arrested. According to police the six vehicle accident occurred at approximately 11:45 p.m. Friday on Polk Street, east of Dronfield Avenue in Sylmar. http://caraccidentlawsuits.blogspot.com/
The driver that caused the six vehicle accident and attempted to flee the scene has been identified as Gabriel Ochoa age 23 of Sylmar. Ochoa was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup truck on Polk Avenue, when he struck a Toyota Corolla.
The impact of the collision caused the Toyota to spin around and was pushed several hundred feet backward, police said. Police said the force of the impact caused the passenger of the Toyota to be ejected from the vehicle.
Both the passenger identified as a 19 year old and the driver identified as Roman John Jimenez, Jr. of the Toyota, were seriously injured in the crash and transported to a local hospital. The Dodge pickup truck then rolled over on its roof, hitting several parked cars, police said.
Police said that after Ochoa was helped to be freed from the pickup truck he fled the scene and was later arrested. Ochoa was charged with felony hit and run and is being held on $50,000 bail, police said.
