March 28, 2012 - According to reports a man crossing the street in Buena Park that was stuck suffered head injuries. According to Buena Park Police Department Cpl. Andy Luong the accident occurred at approximately 10:20 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Knott Avenue in the vicinity north of Lincoln Avenue in Buena Park.
The man struck is believed to be a transient, who was struck by a white, four door vehicle while crossing Knott Avenue outside of a crosswalk, Cpl. Luong said. The man suffered head injuries and leg injuries in the accident, and was transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange, Cpl. Luong said.
According to Buena Park Police Department officials the woman driver that struck the man crossing Knott Avenue, remained at the scene of the accident. Police said there was no arrest or citations issued. Knott Avenue at Lincoln Avenue was closed for approximately three hours while Buena Park Police Investigators were on the scene, processing the accident site.

Teen Critically Injured in Crash with Teen Driver
March 26, 2012 - According to reports a 14 year old was critically injured in a car crash driven by another teen ager.
According to Fullerton Police Department Lt. Larraine Jones the accident occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Monday. The accident occurred in the 1000 block of North Gilbert Street in the vicinity of Hughes Drive in Fullerton.
Lt. Jones said that the initial investigation determined that the driver identified as an 18 year old was speeding while traveling eastbound on North Gilbert Street. It is suspected that he lost control of the Toyota Corolla he was driving, causing it to cross the lanes and smash into a tree on the wrong side of the road.
The 14 year old was trapped in the smashed Corolla and had to be extricated by firefighters. The driver was able to get out of the car on his own, Lt. Jones said.
Lt. Jones said that the driver complained of chest pains and was transported to St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton. The 14 year old, after being extricated was transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he is listed in critical condition.

March 26, 2012 - According to reports there were almost 200 traffic crashes reported on Sunday in Orange County California.
According to the California Highway Patrol there were 191 traffic collisions reported on Sunday. California Highway Patrol Officer Gabe Montoya said that there was nearly a quarter-inch of rain that contributed to the amount of traffic crashes. He said there were no major crashes on the county freeways. And Los Angeles car accident lawyers are waiting for the phones to ring.

According to San Diego prosecutors 18 year old driver Nikolette Kristina Gallo plead not guilty to a fatal hit and run that occurred on Interstate 8 in Ocean Beach. Gallo told her parents that alerted police after seeing a man had been killed in a hit and run accident and said she believed she had hit him.

Driver of U-Haul Truck Charged in Fatal DUI Accident
March 19, 2012 - According to reports the driver of a U-Haul truck has been charged in a fatal DUI accident.
According to Orange County District Attorney’s Office, Dustin David Lish age 19 of La Habra has been charged with one felony count of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence while under the influence. He faces sentencing enhancements for fleeing the scene of the accident.
The District Attorney’s office said that Lish can face up to 15 years in state prison for the fatal accident. D.A. officials said Lish was drinking alcohol with friends and then his sister drove Lish and a friend to a U-Haul facility located on Lambert Road in La Habra, where Lish was employed.
Lish and his friend rented a truck for a place to hang out, authorities said. Authorities said when renting the truck the manager could see that Lish was visibly intoxicated and refused to let him drive the truck.
D.A. officials said that Lish and his friend later traded places, so Lish could drive and at approximately 5:40 p.m. Lish is alleged to have been driving erratically at high rates of speed, veering into oncoming traffic on the wrong side of the road.
Lish sideswiped a Nissan SUV, causing the driver to swerve to avoid a head-on collision. Lish still traveling on the wrong side of the road struck a Hyundai Accent head-on, with an impact that pushed it into the car behind the Accent.
Lish and his friend fled the scene of the head-on crash on foot and was found by La Habra police officers later, hiding in a vehicle storage area approximately 200 feet from the crash. The driver of the Hyundai Accent was identified as Joseph Quezada age 20, who was transported from the scene of the accident and later died at the hospital.
D.A. officials said that Lish’s blood alcohol was 0.16 percent three hours after the crash. Prosecutors plan to ask Lish be taken into custody and held on $250,000 bail.

St. Patrick’s Day DUI Checkpoints Net 64 Alleged Drivers Under the Influence
March 19, 2012 - According to reports, 64 drivers were arrested for allegedly driving under the influence over the St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
According to authorities a multiagency task force, operated from Friday, March 16th at 6:00 p.m. till March 18th at 6:00 a.m.
Authorities say that there were 64 people arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence by the task force that involved the California Highway Patrol, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and other police departments.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department there were no reported fatal DUI crashes in Orange County.
Officials stated that they will conduct more DUI chieckpoints during Cinco de Mayo and Memorial Day weekend.

On-Ramp Shut Down on Anaheim Boulevard For Vehicle Fire
March 15, 2012 - According to reports an on-ramp was closed down on Anaheim Boulevard, caused by a vehicle fire.
According to the California Highway Patrol the accident occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. on the southbound Anaheim Boulevard on-ramp to the northbound lanes of the I-5 Freeway.
California Highway Patrol Officer Rob Lenzini said motorists alerted driver of the vehicle that there flames under the vehicle, after getting on the I-5 Freeway.

Multiple Crashes on the Southbound 55 Freeway Slow Traffic
March 13, 2012 - According to reports multiple crashes on the southbound lanes of the 55 Freeway slowing traffic.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Gabe Montoya a multiple vehicle crash was reported at approximately 6:00 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the 55 Freeway.
The accident involved approximately five vehicles, in the vicinity of East Dyer Road. The multiple vehicle crash caused a SigAlert to be issued for the No. 4 lane that was later canceled at approximately 7:20 a.m.
Another collision occurred in the vicinity of East McFadden Street in the southbound lanes of the 55 Freeway, CHP Officer Montoya said. There were four vehicles involved in the second crash and were on the right shoulder of the freeway.

Woman Injured in Anaheim Crash After Hitting a Traffic Light Pole
March 12, 2012 - According to reports a woman was injured in Anaheim, when her vehicle struck a traffic light pole.
According to Anaheim Police Sgt. Bon Dunn the accident occurred at approximately 2:45 a.m. at the intersection of State College Boulevard and South Street in Anaheim.
Sgt. Dunn said that a Toyota Corolla struck a traffic light pole at the intersection and was seriously injured.
According firefighters, the woman was trapped under the dashboard and had to be freed.

Person Struck By Train In San Clemente
March 12, 2012 - According to reports a person was struck by a train in San Clemente, near the San Clemente station.
According to authorities the accident occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. Monday, near the San Clemente train station.
The train involved in the accident, according to Metrolink officials was 851 and was on the Inland Empire Orange County line.
Metrolink officials said that buses were dispatched to pick up passengers that were on the 851 train.
No other details about the accident have been released, while authorities are still investigating the accident.

According to the San Clemente Sheriff’s Department the accident occurred at approximately 8:56 a.m. on Thursday in the 500 block of East Avenida Pico in San Clemente.
The woman and two children were crossing the street near the post office at the time they were hit.
Sheriff’s officials said that the driver got out of the truck to check on the woman and two children and then left and reported the accident to his company dispatch.
According to the sheriff’s department report the driver was ordered to return to the post office.
No injuries were reported, according to officials and no arrests were made. The accident remains under investigation, according to officials.

Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Hit and Run Driver at Ocean Beach
March 11, 2012 - According to reports a pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit and run driver at Ocean Beach in San Diego.

California Highway Patrol officials said the car that struck the pedestrian where Nimitz Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard merge onto the eastbound lanes of Ocean Beach Freeway in San Diego.
California Highway Patrol officials stated the evidence found at the scene of the crash causes them to believe the vehicle that struck and killed the pedestrian is a 2007 or later model Toyota Camry. They believe that there is moderate damaged to the front bumper and lens assembly.
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the evidence at the scene.

March 9, 2012 - According to reports a woman was killed in a suspected road racing crash in San Bernardino. According to authorities the crash occurred on Thursday night in the 2300 block of Baseline Road in San Bernardino.
Police said that three cars were racing in the 2300 block of Baseline road, when one of the vehicles attempted to go around a vehicle and crashed head-on into an oncoming car.
The woman that was killed in the car crash, was driving the oncoming car and has been identified as _______________ age 25 of Rialto.
The driver that struck __________’s vehicle has been identified as ___________, who was injured in the car crash. Police said Sorto had her 3 year old son in the car with her, during the crash. March 6, 2012 - According to reports at least one person was injured in a multi-vehicle crash that involved a big rig. According to the California Highway Patrol the accident occurred at approximately 8:12 a.m. west of Weir Canyon Road in the eastbound lanes of the 91 Freeway, in Anaheim.
California Highway Patrol officer Gabe Montoya said the driver of a big rig called the California Highway Patrol from a nearby truck scale to report being involved in the collision.
At least three vehicles were involved in the accident and one is described as being a silver compact vehicle that was dented on the side and pushed into the center divider wall, CHP officer Montoya said.

Vehicle Involved in Police Chase Crashes Head-On with Car---Injures Three
March 2, 2012 - According to reports a vehicle that was involved in a police chase crashed head on into another vehicle. According to Santa Ana Police Cmdr. Anthony Beragna the head on accident occurred at approximately 11:00 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of McFadden.
Cmdr. Beragna said police officers felt there was something suspicious when they saw a black Cadillac Escalade that was on McFadden and Fairview Street. Officers attempted to pull the Escalade, over in the west lanes of McFadden and the driver did not pullover.
Two men were in the Escalade at the time the chase began and were involved in a head-on collision with a Nissan coupe, on McFadden Avenue in the vicinity of the Santa Ana River Trail.
According to Cmdr. Beragna the driver of the Nissan suffered injuries, including injuries to the leg. He said the injuries were not life threatening and the driver was transported to an area hospital. The two people in the Cadillac Escalade had to be cut out of the vehicle and were transported to the hospital, there injuries were unknown, said Cmdr. Bertagna.
Santa Ana police said that a bag of narcotics and cash was found inside of the Cadillac, after the men were cut out. Police closed McFadden Avenue between Jackson and Fairview until approximately 1:00 p.m.

Man Killed in Solo Vehicle Crash into Tree
March 1, 2012 - According to reports by the auto accident attorneys at Ehline Law Firm PC, a man was killed in a solo vehicle accident, when his car crashed into a tree.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Gabe Montoya the accident occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m. on northbound I-5. The accident occurred in the vicinity north of Avenida Vista Hermosa.
CHP Officer Montoya said, it is believed the driver of a Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling at a high rate of speed when he drove off of the road. The vehicle then struck a tree, causing the Chevrolet to flip over.
According to Officer Montoya officers arriving on the scene of the crash attempted CPR on the driver killed in the accident. The driver has been identified as a 24 year old man from San Clemente.
